Neste artigo, a autora apresenta dois argumentos: primeiramente, que muitas das escolhas da escrita de Clarice Lispector foram influenciadas por seu interesse na questão do significado de ser fêmea; em segundo, que muitas traduções da obra de Clarice para o inglês distorcem sua linguagem e sua intenção, e que os conceitos feministas de tradução são necessários para identificar estas distorções.
