Abstract
Este ensaio tem como objetivo analisar uma amostra de editoriais e artigos publicados em três revistas literárias portuguesas nos anos 1920, destacando, especialmente, as maneiras como os autores dos periódicos se referem à arte e aos escritores brasileiros. Através da leitura das propostas e apreciações encontradas nas páginas dos periódicos Atlantida, Contemporanea e Claridade, busca-se destacar como os intelectuais envolvidos com tais periódicos percebiam as tendências de transformação nas artes que se delineavam com o surgimento do Modernismo no Brasil. O período das publicações analisadas abrange a metade da década de 1910 até o fim da década de 1920, e sua leitura revela que as iniciativas dos modernistas brasileiros, como a Semana de Arte Moderna e a publicação dos manifestos oswaldianos tiveram, de modo geral, pouquíssima repercussão junto a esses representantes da periodística portuguesa.
This essay aims to analyze a sample of editorials and articles published in three Portuguese literary magazines in the 1920s, highlighting, in particular, how the authors of the periodicals refer to Brazilian art and writers. By reading the proposals and reviews found in the pages of Atlantida, Contemporanea, and Claridade, the aim is to highlight how the intellectuals involved in these periodicals perceived the trends of transformation in the arts that were emerging with the rise of Modernism in Brazil. The period of the publications analyzed covers the mid-1910s to the end of the 1920s, and reading these texts reveals that the initiatives of the Brazilian modernists, such as the Semana de Arte Moderna and the publication of Oswald’s manifestos, generally had very little repercussion with these representatives of Portuguese periodicals.
