The study of African Mozambican immigrants’ narratives of life and identity trajectories will be carried out in order to gain insight into: to what extent Boaventura Sousa Santos’s Portuguese postcolonialism theory (2001) helps us to understand these immigrants’ narratives of life and identity; and what kind of affinity Portugal has established with its ex-assimilated subjects as a country of postcolonial immigration. Finally, I analyse these individuals’ perceptions of a postcolonial Portugal.
